Infinitive phrase adalah frasa yang menggunakan infinitive ( rumus : to + verb₁).

Infinitive phrase berfungsi sebagai:

• Sebagai kata benda (noun). Infinitive phrase sebagai noun dapat menempati posisi subject, object, ataupun pelengkap (complement) kalimat.

Contoh: Her dream is to finish college.  

• Sebagai kata sifat (adjectives) yang menjelaskan atau mendeskripsikan kata benda (noun) atau kata ganti orang (pronoun).

Contoh: I need a handkerchief to wipe her tears.

• Sebagai kata keterangan (adverb) yang menjelaskan bagaimana sebuah kejadian terjadi.

Contoh: She speaks to reveal the truths.
